Assignment 1
Reflections
After listening to my videos i realise that the interval i struggle most with is the SO to MI, because i keep making my Mi sharp. I keep trying to sing Fa somewhere between the two notes and I struggle with staying on the pentatonic scale
I also had a particularly hard time with finding the key of F, because it is not diatonically in the key of A, and it took a bit of jumping to find the key, and I feel like I need some more practice finding those keys.
Assignment 2
After listening to my recordings I realised a few things. First of all, I have a very light and hesitant tone when I sing by myself like this. It isnt bad, and there is musicianship in my fluidity, but I sound quiet and kinda sad. Second, I am much more in tune when I'm singing the second time as I find it easy to tune up or down to myself rather than just to hold tuning without accompaniment.
Assignment 3
I found it difficult to balance the high parts and low parts so the high so didn't drown out the low so, but I felt confident in my tuning and tempo. There wasn't too many struggles I had with this assignment and the Canon worked very well with the garage band software
Assignment 4
I had issues with balancing the high so being balanced with the rest of the parts, but i ended up using it as a way to track where i was in the different parts. the hardest part for me to sing the solfege was the arpeggio, where i had difficulties with the speed i had set and remembering the right words.
Assignment 5
I really liked singing the staggered notes, and having a call-and-response by the time the parts were all recorded. Singing the high la was interesting, but the CaR made up for it. I had issues with tuning the La, as it was so high in my range.
Assignment 6
the hardest part of recording this one was the timing, and making sure all the parts lined up. I recorded each part probably a dozen times and just couldn't get it to line up. eventually, I found where each part lined up with the high La and worked from there to get it all together. The use of a lot of Re also got to me a bit but i managed to keep most of them in tune

MINOR KEYS ARE FUN! I had some fun filming this one, but i sometimes have a hard time with the So Si difference, and remebering that SO DO is no MI LA sometimes trips me up

Once i had the Fa MI sound in my head, this canon was pretty easy. there were some issues lining it up again but it went pretty well. I feel my tuning in this one was better than usual.
I discovered that when you are doing a drone underneath and looping, you cannot put an attack on the note or it will sound dumb.
